For the last few weekends I have been stitching my fingers to the bones. I have literally turned our dinning room into my own personal studio. Which includes our china cabinet being filled with sewing supplies. Here are a few projects I can share with you before for Christmas.
First, I have made super cute, super hero capes for my nephews. Check out Puking Pastilles for an easy tutorial. Thanks Becca for passing this on! it made my life much easier.
While Ethan, Jackson, and Justin are Batman and Superman.
I think Brad is secretly jealous he is not getting one. He has been showing them to all his friends that stop by the house. Seriously!?
Second, Little Miss Leah is getting a cute corduroy dress for Christmas. I used a newborn pattern and it was huge, so I whipped up a mini version and it might be too small. Either way it is really cute and I hope one of them will fit. If not we will have to make a third version.
Thirdly, for St. Nicks' the boys are getting their traditional advent calendars from Brad and I. Check out the Target Seasonal section, they have three really cute designs. The chocolate is from Germany so it is actually very good, and always a big hit with the kids.
As for Leah she is getting a little sleep sack with soft little snowmen. I might need to make a few more of these. They are super easy and the pattern is from the 70's, when they still cost two bucks.
Finally, on Saturday morning Brads' Mom, Sister and I headed to the local High School for a GIANT craft fair. Oak Hills holds a craft show every year with over 150 vendors. Our big find of the day were these little hair ribbons for babies. I am totally convinced that Heather and Pauline could make these on their own. I went home and tried a couple out. Once you get the hang of tying the bows it is super easy. I have passed on the trial samples to Pauline to work on. Have fun hot gluing!I think I need to sign up to show at this craft fair next year. I better start stock piling some Creations now!
