Stitching Christmas Projects

For the last few weekends I have been stitching my fingers to the bones. I have literally turned our dinning room into my own personal studio. Which includes our china cabinet being filled with sewing supplies. Here are a few projects I can share with you before for Christmas.

First, I have made super cute, super hero capes for my nephews. Check out Puking Pastilles for an easy tutorial. Thanks Becca for passing this on! it made my life much easier.

These are all reversible and secured with two pieces of Velcro at the neck.

Ethan's little brother, Ryan gets to be Robin and Superman.

While Ethan, Jackson, and Justin are Batman and Superman.

I think Brad is secretly jealous he is not getting one. He has been showing them to all his friends that stop by the house. Seriously!?

Second, Little Miss Leah is getting a cute corduroy dress for Christmas. I used a newborn pattern and it was huge, so I whipped up a mini version and it might be too small. Either way it is really cute and I hope one of them will fit. If not we will have to make a third version.

Thirdly, for St. Nicks' the boys are getting their traditional advent calendars from Brad and I. Check out the Target Seasonal section, they have three really cute designs. The chocolate is from Germany so it is actually very good, and always a big hit with the kids.
As for Leah she is getting a little sleep sack with soft little snowmen. I might need to make a few more of these. They are super easy and the pattern is from the 70's, when they still cost two bucks.

Finally, on Saturday morning Brads' Mom, Sister and I headed to the local High School for a GIANT craft fair. Oak Hills holds a craft show every year with over 150 vendors. Our big find of the day were these little hair ribbons for babies. I am totally convinced that Heather and Pauline could make these on their own. I went home and tried a couple out. Once you get the hang of tying the bows it is super easy. I have passed on the trial samples to Pauline to work on. Have fun hot gluing!

I think I need to sign up to show at this craft fair next year. I better start stock piling some Creations now!

Busy Bee

For the last few weekends I have been busy filling Christmas orders. Michele at work had requested a few things. 1. An Ohio State apron for the hubby. The emblem is appliqued felt.

2. A "Woodsy" work apron for her brother-in-law. I added double pockets and a hammer loop.

3. A pink, glittery, pom-pom, star apron for her sister.
I have few more things to share latter including cool super hero capes.

Baptism

Last Sunday, November 8th was little Miss Leah Hopes' Baptism. It has and continues to be unseasonably warm here in south west Ohio and the Schmidt's took full advantage of it.
We started off by attending mass at 11:00 am. The message was short and sweet, and reminded us that the little things you chose to do weather good or bad add up. After church we headed over to Brad's sisters house for snacks, food, and some Bengals football outside on the patio.
I spent most of my day playing wiffle ball, soccer and hide-n-seek with the kids.

Chrissy {Godmother} and Brad {God Father}

Grandma and Grandpa Hollander with thie first Grandaughter, Leah.

Matt, Heather, Leah, Chrissy and Uncle Brad.

Heather, Leah and Brad.

Heather has a picture of each of her kids on their name blanket. Look how precious that little cross cookie is!

Here is Ethan on his.... I am sure if Brad had a name blanket he would have posed for a picture too!

Sweet Ryan all tuckered out....

Ethan likes to be the center of attention.... which includes letting Aunt Kyle dress him up! Flower cardigans and snake scarfs are all the rage! What a great day to celerate!

Homemade Pumpkin Spice Latte

I not the kind of girl that stops at Starbucks everyday for coffee, not only because of the price but it feels like an errand, and I hate running errands. However, I am the type of girl that likes to grind my own beans, and use a french press or an old school peculator. Today, I would like to share my new found treat, Pumpkin pie spice creamer. I highly recommend you indulge as well.

The Birthday Fairy Visits

Today is this man's Birthday! Happy 32nd Birthday Brad! I can't believe we have celebrated five years of birthday's together. I am looking forward fifty-something more!
Presents are wrapped and ready to go, a Paula Deen dinner is in the works, dessert will be baked and decorations will go up. Normally, the Birthday fairy visits the night before and graceiously does all this prep work, but a last we were at our precious neices baptism and celebration all day so the Birthday fairy opted out. No worries she will be in full effect after work.
Stay tuned for Leah's baptism post!
