I have a need.....

Anthropologie fall has arrived and I have many needs that are not in my budget. What is a girl to do? Here is my fall favorite the Hickory and Oak cardigan! It is a bit pricey at $148.00 but I can still look at and pray for clearance.

Crabby Mood today!

Hey there, I am in a crabby mood today and I was not sure what I was going to post today. Then I was reading a few of my daily blogs and came across my new fall bag, the Ostrich Downtown shopper in Navy blue from About Attitude; which I discovered on go fug yourself. Go fug yourself is a fun site that posts famous people in horrible outfits, this is one of my favorite guilty pleasures. I sent the About Attitude site to few friends to see if they were interested in ordering something too, and then my friend sent me this bag back to me! I think it is a very appropriate post for my mood today.

Noonoo Organic Baby

Noonoo© products are felted lambswool, unbleached and pre-shrunk, all embroidery is free hand and has been inspired by child's art. Additionally each blanket is individually handmade which makes each blanket as unique as your child. I first saw this company at the Atlanta gift show and was tempted by buy one. The picture do not do this product justice, their color pallet is very soft and you immediately want to touch it. Right now they are sold in small boutiques and they do not plan on going commercial.

Fair trade alert

Not only do I love all of blabla's designs but they are also a fair trade company.

blabla's collection is designed by Florence Wetterwald and knitted by Peruvian artists. Another plus is that all of their fibers are natural which makes them extra cuddly. The Big bird mobile is a must have, it is so sweet you could design your entire baby room around the mobile.

Another favorite of mine are the matching hat and booties, I actually own this set. It is packed away waiting for my future children. Don't forget to check out all their super snuggly plush!

Etsy baby find

My unique find of the day is an exclusively handmade baby line by Joey & Aleethena. I found them on my daily visit to Etsy. The entire collections is so cute it was extremely hard to pick which designs to post. They are all about "family, and fabric, love and laughter, and handmade super coolness." I think that pretty much sums up her collection. One of my favorites is the sugar skull Onezie, I have been eyeing that fabric for awhile now. However, the hooty owl is equally as cute, and I love all the colors in the burp cloth.

Visit their shop at Joey & Aleethena to purchase a few goodies for yourself.

Official baby week!

Everything that has inspired me lately is related to baby things. I am not sure if it has to due with the fact that I have been around Brad's nieces and nephew's or that everyone seems to have a baby or is going to have a baby. I have so many baby gifts swimming in my head I am going to make this week will be all about the little tike's.
Dwell designs the most modern and unique prints and patterns and never wavers on quality or style.

I am in love with Dwells' entire collection. It is hard to make boy prints not look juvenile but I think they do a wonderful job, especially with their cowboy print. I also love the softness and the customization of the fabric blocks, they come with a handy coordinating bag. Wonder if they have a fun bell or rattle inside of them?

Ava's Birthday Dress

Here is a little brown and pink pok-a-dot, light weight corduroy dress that I made for Ava's first Birthday. My friend Allison's daughter Ava is super sweet and she will look adorable in this little jumper. I am a week late but I am sure Allison and Ava will love it anyway. This is a super easy dress and it turns out cute.
Maybe Allison will send me a picture of Ava in her new fall dress.

I am working on another one that I am re-constructing from an existing dress that I bought this summer and never wore. I have to stop by Jo-Ann's to pick up pink thread. Some how when we moved in October my box of miscellaneous thread went missing.

Here is a photo of the dress before.

Here is the dress after.

Feeling crafty

I have had this image stored away for quite some time. I love the intricate detail and I have been really into peacocks with no real way to express it. I have finally dug out my sewing machine and feel inspired to recreate this exquisite coat. It has been so long that I am not sure where I even found this image from, otherwise I would let you know where to get one. I will try a bit of research and then I will update so you can purchase one of your very own.
After a bit of research the coats is made by Vanilla Moon which is a company of mothers who work around caring for their children to make really unique clothing. Each piece is made in extremely limited numbers, meaning that the clothes are highly exclusive, and, presumably, relieving the manufacturers of worries about huge orders. This coat is no longer available so I will have to try and make my own.
Since I do not have any children I will definitely have to make this a gift. If turns out I am thinking of making a hoddie with the Peacock appliqued on it for myself.

Where I spend my Sundays

Almost every Sunday my boyfriend, Brad and I pack up our sunscreen, beach towels, a few drinks and some food and head out to lake. We usually meet up with his friends or sometimes mine to hang out and relax. Lake Williamstown is a man made lake located in Grant county Kentucky, only about an hour away from our house. The association is getting ready to double the size of the Lake, it is perfect for boating, water skiing, swimming and tubing. Brad and I are completely obsessed with buying our very own Lake house.

Here are a few of the houses we Love!
Now here are a few properties that we could afford... maybe with a couple other people.

No matter what I would jump on board! Once you have had a weekend on the lake it makes going back into work on Monday much easier. I defiantly see myself with a little studio and a wonderful lakeside view for designing and creating. Imagine how many creative things you could come up with.

Well maybe some day....

Dog Bed

Towels

To Beds

One of my very favorite daily reads is Lori Marie and her Pretty little things, I adore all of her creations. Last Friday she posted a step by step tutorial on how to make a dog bed. She not only designs colorful and creative Pretty Little Things, she also free lances' for Pottery Barn.

Isn't her Matilda cute?

I can't wait to go out and search for the perfect towels to make my very own bed for my baby pug. Little Wrigley says , "Where's my bed?"

Happy Birthday Mando!

Saturday is my friend Mandi's Birthday, so I hand made here a little birthday surprise. I made 12 cards with various sayings; Thank you, Miss you, Get well, Hey there. I also made some extras in case she needs more of one saying then the other.
We are going to Brio on the Levee to celebrate with a bunch of friends, bunch of food, and bunch of Vino.
I can make custom cards if anyone is interested.

Lakeside Union

How funny! I posted a blog earlier about Emily Style's Wedding vision and then I stumbled across a blog called Style Me Pretty and they were having a contest for the very same thing. So I decided since my friends is not ready for his to be complete I would create one of my own. Very casual, simple, gathering on the Lake. The ceremony could be held at dusk, with friends and family and the reception could start immediately after that. What do you think?
