Want some more?

Our friends had a grill out this weekend and I was asked to bring the dessert. I keep thinking some thing fallish and then I ran across a Smore's bar recipe at recipezarr.com. They were a hit, I made a few adjustments as follows. They are very easy to make just a little messy so I put them in cup cake papers. I have found the easier you make it to pick up the more people will eat them.
Smore's Bars

one box of graham crackers crushed
one stick of butter melted
1/3 cup of sugar
1 egg
on bag of mini marshmallows
12 0z bag of chocolate chips

1. combine graham crackers, butter, sugar in egg.
2. Press 2/3 of the mixture in to a 13x9x2 greased pan
3. sprinkle chocolate chips and marshmallows on top of the graham cracker crust
4. Gently press remaining graham cracker mixture on top
5. Bake for 10 minutes at 350, and then 10 more minutes at 375
6. cool until pan is slightly warm, cut and remove bars from pan.
7. optional drizzle with chocolate and decorate with mini marshmallows

my very own pretty little thing

I have been waiting patiently to post about my very own pretty little thing, hand made by lori marie! I ordered it before I left for vacation so it would be waiting for me when I got home. I am very excited, and almost feel bad using it. People always say that to me when I make them presents, and now I know how they feel! When you get a chance check out lori's blog, web site and shop. She has even been featured on the Martha Stewart show and in her magazine. I have a weird feeling that she will be doing big, big things soon! It is always inspiring to see a fellow designer and crafter become even more successful at something they are passionate about.

simple and to the point

I finally got around to designing a business card for my little blog. It is simple and to the point and fulfills it's purpose. Now when I am taking photos instores I might not get kicked out!

It reminds me of Fruit Striped gum, you know that gum that had flavor for two seconds?

Sad day for me

Today is my good friend and co-worker Allison's last day. Our friendship has grow over the last two years and she will truly be missed as a friend and the best co-worker I have ever had the opportunity to work with! As good bye present I made her a little lunch bag to remember us by.

I usually bring my lunch in an old shopping bag from Black and White market and they boys at work always made fun of me, so I have modeled the shape from there. I love it so much I am going to make my self one.

Ready for Bengals Sunday

I worked on my Bengals sweat shirt the Friday before I left for vacation and planned on finishing it on Sunday. Well I ran out of green thread. So I picked some up and now I have finished my very own Bengals sweat shirt. It took a really long time to applique each individual piece, but I really like it. What do you think?

Hopefully it will be chilly on Sunday so I can wear it!

back from sunny Florida

We are back from sunny Florida. We had a great time and I am not ready to be back at work!
Anyway, one of the three books that I read on vacation was Craft Inc. by Meg Mateo Ilasco. This a great book! The entire time I was reading it I kept thinking "Yes this is me!" Not only is Meg very informative, but the book is creatively put together; wonderful prints, stimulating colors and fun layouts. If you are interesting in starting your own craft busines this book is a must read!

We are back!

The view from Kilmer lake! My parents live on a gorgeous lake in Goldsboro, North Carolina but the crazy thing is that no one is ever out swimming, fishing or boating besides them! So we kiddingly call it Kilmer (their last name) lake!
Anyway, Wrigley and I had a great vacation, we sat on the deck, played games, went for long pug walks, and her pug-gradparents taught her how to swim!

Wrigley and I had tons of fun but we glad to come home and see our Brad!
