Well I have had a very, very, busy weekend. My friend's Amy, and Emily planned and executed a huge 30th surprise German themed birthday party this weekend. Brad (my boy friend) and Dave (Emily's boyfriend and Amy's brother) turned 30 this year. Although Brad turned 30 in November I was off in China so I did not get throw him a party that I wanted to. I think I made up for it by combining Dave and Brad's Birthdays' this weekend.

Friday: I took the day off from work and sewed a bunch of German hats as party favors. Then and ran some errands to finalize our home-made German girl costumes. I also fit the gym into my busy schedule(A+ for me). Emily and I picked up Amy from the airport, at nine PM, she flew in from New York, for the big party.
We went to the Party source and picked up the booze and decorations. Next we went over to Dave's house to check out the situation in the basement (yes we threw a surprise party in the Birthday boy's own basement) what did we find in basement? A horrid mess, that's when we knew how much work we had ahead of us. Finally we go back to my house and work on our German girl costumes until four in the morning....

Amy and I picked up various items from the thrift store and altered the heck out of them to give us the most authentic German feel.
Saturday: wake up finish outfits at noon. Then we run around picking up all the odds and ends we need to decorate. Emily works upstairs on food and organization. Amy and I are tasked to clean and decorate a basement. five hours later we did manage to turn a dirty basement into a clean German Beer Garden. By the way thanks to all our friends and family for help with the keg, fire pit, tables and food we could not have done it without you!!
